Sports massage and deep tissue therapy in Shrewsbury

Useful if you race often, live with muscular aches, or collect headaches from the week. You do not need to be an athlete to benefit.

Sports massage

Therapists here have at least five years in sports therapy or physiotherapy. The same hands that prepare international athletes also see people from Shropshire whose pain started at a desk.

Techniques keep moving with research and with modern life. A session every couple of weeks is the rhythm that shows the longer effect. The first visit includes a consultation so the pressure and methods match you. It is firmer than a spa Swedish massage, and it should not leave you bruised for days. Speak up during the treatment; that conversation is what keeps the result useful.

Sitting, driving and phone posture load the body in odd ways. Repetitive sport does the same. Massage can ease tension, reduce pain and restore range so training feels available again.

First visit
A 75-minute session is the best introduction. If that is too long, 50 minutes still includes consultation and treatment.

What to wear
Loose shorts and a t-shirt, vest or sports bra. Training shoes help if we are talking about your sport, but they are not essential.

Remedial and deep tissue

Sessions can blend Swedish massage, reflexology, myofascial cupping, trigger-point work and deep tissue treatment. The aim is muscular ease, less pain, and a nervous system that has actually stood down.

Back, neck and head discomfort does not have to be the background noise of the week. Each visit starts with a consultation. Pressure is agreed so you stay comfortable. Shorter visits can focus on one region, such as the back or both legs. Longer ones reset a wider map of tension.

Office workers, athletes, people with mobility limits and anyone who simply maintains themselves with regular treatment are all welcome. Changing rooms and showers are available if you want fresh clothes afterwards. Mention recent operations or illness before the session.

After the first hour

Your therapist may suggest a follow-up rhythm, or a different service if massage is not the whole answer. That recommendation is explained plainly so you leave knowing the plan. New visitors are usually best in a 50 or 75 minute remedial session so assessment and treatment both fit.
